Hi Olga. The bench is a lovely spot, overlooking the beach, water, and jutting rocks. Inside the mailbox, you'll find journals that have been left there, waiting for the next visitor to add their thoughts as they enjoy the view.

I promise I will keep the secret of the bench mailbox. I want to know, Heather. ( But my guess would be the bench is a place to go to send "mail" to someone of the spirit world?) Thank you for the nice mention in your Friday extravaganza. Friday Unwind has become my only "newspaper". I have lived alone for a long time and the thought of having someone sleeping next to me in my bed snoring like a mad bull is a nightmare. Separate beds, by all means!! The cookies, on the other hand are like a good dream. Thank you. Keep up the fine work, girl. Very entertaining.

I love your idea of communicating with the spirit world! And you could because inside the little black mailbox there are journals waiting for your pen and thoughts. Add your words to those left behind by others, while you commune with nature and the spirits.

I didn't even see the black mailbox under the bench in the photo! Such a sweet sweet idea. Thanks for telling us about it. It would be a lovely day excursion from Santa Cruz to find it.

Yes, a delightful trip! I hope you go. It's a beautiful spot to sit. I haven't been for 5 years. I wonder if the journals are still there!

I have been on that walk many times but never noticed the secret mailbox. I'lll have to check further the next time I am down that way.

I've also been to Seacliff State Park many times, but didn't know the story behind the S.S Palo Alto. I'm glad to read they are rebuilding the pier and the park. It is a most beautiful place.

Isn't that just a wonderful walk?! I hope you find the bench and mailbox on your next visit. Inside the box you'll find journals left by fellow wanderers, just waiting for your thoughts.

I haven't visited Seacliff beach, but I would love to. Such an intriguing story. I can picture big bands and boogie woogie dancing from back in the day. It must have been a lot of fun. How fortunate that you have been there!
