Love the potpourri of topics. You've given me a light, fun Friday morning read. If at some point you want to review "Alfred's Journey to Be Liked," I'm happy to send you either a kindle or paperback version. No pressure. Just an offer. (I'm at 38 reviews and looking to reach 50 by end of summer).
Hi Jill. I'm so happy to know you are enjoying After 21 Club. Thank you for telling me. (You get a ⭐ on your chart!)
Alfred sounds like an interesting teenager who must be on a wonderful journey. I love your description.....and, of course, you had me at 'dogs make the world better'! (I did take a sneak peek on Amazon 😊)
I'd be honored to read/review the book. Kindle is probably the easiest if you'd like to send me a link to access it. You can reach me at heather@thebrebaughs.com.
Heather, just wondering whether you received a notice from Amazon regarding a kindle copy I sent you. Sometimes things can fall into a black hole and technology is not always our friend, so just confirming...
Hi Jill. I'm planning to spend some time with Alfred this week. Thanks for letting him visit with me! I'll let you know when I've finished. 💚 @Janice Walton has already read it, in case you didn't see that.
When you commented on an After 21 Club post and asked if I'd review your book, Janice saw that. I think, if you go back to your comment on my post you could find it. Hope that helps. ❤
Movies, rain, Grand Canyon, beach art, book review! What an interesting "magazine" to read over my breakfast coffee and toast! I love all your topics, Heather and hope you will keep this going! I really like it. I remember the fun of taking my mom ( age 90 ) on the train out of WIlliams. She was excited as a child to be held up by bandits riding their horses along side of the train. They boarded the train and she handed them $2.Thanks for the memory!
Thanks for the encouragement, Sharron! I'm definitely having fun with this. And I'm thrilled to be hanging out with you for coffee and toast!
What a fun trip to have made with your Mom. I bet those bandits thought she was just as cute as could be. Thank you for sharing the memory. 💚
PS - a little behind in my reading. Just got back today from 2 weeks in Indiana. Which means, you will be stuck with some Midwest 'coffee and toast' pretty soon. 😁
Yep. That's the one. There's a photographer named @Johnniechien.photo (Instagram) who took a beautiful photo of the cement ship and the bioluminescent plankton. That also sent me down the rabbit hole about the history of the cement ship.
I have plans to include it next week in After 21 Club. Would you have any interest in being a 'guest' writer for that section of the newsletter? No pressure. I hadn't thought of that until just now. But if you'd like to, you are certainly welcome. I can send you links to the information that I have.
Thanks Heather. I have several pieces of my own I can't seem to get to, so I will pass on your invitation. If you write about the cement boat, be sure to research the news from this past winter, when it was finally and completely destroyed by our terrible storms.
I have been to the Grand Canyon - a couple of times. What a majestic place. I just downloaded the book "Alfred's Journey to Be Like" and am looking forward to reading it.
We'll be reading "Alfred's Journey to Be Liked" together! With your background, I imagine you will have some really good insights. I'd love to get your perspective.
How lucky that you have been to the Grand Canyon.... multiple times. You're right - truly majestic!
Hi Jill, I thought the book was filled with hope, and a solid approach for kids and adults. Patience, willingness, and a common respect seemed to play a role . I do wonder how many parents would hire a coach… and have the patience to commit as the three of them did. I loved it.
Janice, thank you for reading and responding. If you are willing, I am trying to increase the number of reviews and they don't have to be (and shouldn't be) falsely positive. So if you have it in you, I would so appreciate it. I have created a few short (3 minutes typically) audio tracks of what certain themes have meant to me (and hopefully to others) and I'd be happy to send you a few if you want as a small thank you :)
Whatever you want… usually 3 or 4 sentences but really it’s up to you. When you go to the page on Amazon where book is listed, you can go down to the ratings bar chart and on the bottom of the chart is a button for submit a review. If you get stuck or confused, let me know. Thanks!

Heather, I just sent you a kindle copy. If for some reason you didn't get it, just lmk. Thanks

Hi Jill,
I just found it. A little behind having been traveling for the past 12 days! Thanks for following up. I'm looking forward to reading your work!

I didn't see that. Where would I? Thanks

Good morning, Jill. This sweet video showed up in my Inbox this morning. It reminded me of Alfred's time at the lunchroom: https://biggeekdad.com/2023/08/her-son-always-ate-lunch-alone/

Looking forward to it. I have a wonderful friend in Lowell Indiana, creative and sturdy rural woman. I have never been there though.
She sounds wonderful!
Are you near Seacliff Beach? Next week I've got a tidbit on bioluminescent plankton...
If you are speaking of Seacliff Beach in Santa Cruz County, I am only three miles away.
Yep. That's the one. There's a photographer named @Johnniechien.photo (Instagram) who took a beautiful photo of the cement ship and the bioluminescent plankton. That also sent me down the rabbit hole about the history of the cement ship.

I will let you know . .
Just saw this with Heather’ help. Thank you. I embrace feedback in whatever form and view, just so you know.

Sure, I am willing to give a review- although I have never done one before. How many words, approximately?

Ok, I am out of town right now, but will be back next week and write the review then.
