Oooo, definitely don't want the sun and moon to collide!

I LOVE the Battle Hymn of the Republic and this version is one of those that makes your skin tingle. Thanks, Mitch!

Well, it's PDT for me, so the sky is just starting to turn pinkish...

Knew you'd be a Philly's fan. And your Eagles (not to detract from baseball) should rock it this year. Hurts is a stand up guy....or so it seems.

Your Berra-ism almost made it into After 21 Club - also one of my favs. I also like, 'I never said all the things I said.' I didn't know you put Yogi into a cryptogram! At least it's not into a crypt!

Yup, it's #2 (I should have numbered the pics...oops). It's transplanting time here and I moved this hibiscus, or should I now say 'former' hibiscus. It is in major wilt and it hasn't improved since I took that photo. I'm hoping it looks around and sees how pretty everything else is and says, "I've got to pick up the slack."

I bombed the quiz too. Educational.

Thanks for responding, Mitch. Makes my tea so much more enjoyable.

I genuinely enjoyed reading this piece--such an awesome mixture of really interesting ideas and films (I love Leonard Cohen’s music and poetry and was unaware of that recent documentary), and photos. Thank you for sharing. ✨🌞✨

Thanks so much for telling me, Veronica. I should have mentioned that the documentary is currently on Netflix. Truthfully, I wasn't sure I would enjoy it, but it was so interesting. What a talent. I now find myself humming 'Hallelujah' quite often!

If you have ideas for things you'd like me to look in to, I'd love to know!

Your garden! Wow! Beautiful. I don't see one weed. I can't solve the riddle, but I love the photos. Thanks, by the way, for making me feel AMAZING today! You know what I am talking about. You are such a sweetheart, Heather, to think of me. Happy autumn equinox to you - do something ritualistic and memorable.

Mitchell solved the riddle in his comment earlier today. Hint: look for the hibiscus that looks like it has been strangled and deprived on a canteen.

You ARE amazing, every day. Hope it gave you a few moments of laughter.

Happy AE to you as well. I've just been out raking back the mulch that my skunk visitors dug up last night....that has become a ritual so I guess that's it for my memorable AE. Hah!

You have my sympathies. I have squirrels. I have to go out every morning and repair the damage to my potted plants and planter boxes. They dig up every where to bury t heir peanuts and acorns. Then they make the rounds daily to dig them back up to make sure they are still there. What a mess. It is just their nature...

When we lived in Carmel I had a squirrel friend named George...well, officially George Bush. He had a Davey Crocket-like tail. Over time George and I became

friends. At least I think so. I fed him, so that was probably his best definition of friendship. We had a 2 story house. George would spot me through the windows and follow me around the house....along the wooden fence posts outside the laundry, on the window ledge by the den, onto the roof as I worked upstairs at the desk near a window. We had one of those crank out windows in our den and I used to keep a cigar box full of peanuts nearby. He'd sit atop the 8 foot fence and the minute I made a move toward the box, he'd slip and slide his way down the fence to shag the peanut he was sure I was about to toss out the window. When I'd sit on the back patio he'd slink his way over and grab peanuts off my shoe, or when he was feeling especially brave he'd stretch out as far as his body could go and take one from my fingers. Sometimes he would eat them right there. Sometimes he'd disappear into the yard to find a vault for his treasure. We were the best of friends. I miss that little bugger.

Adorable. You could write this little story up for Kindness Magnet. Be kind to animals! FYI: The peanuts George did not eat immediately, he no doubt buried ... in your neighbor's planter box, tossing out the newly planted geraniums to dig his hole... ha ha ha

ha ha ha ha. Yes, I'm sure he did.

I have so many comments here:

1. Love your explanation of the Autumnal Equinox. That is as clear as I've seen it written, and btw, was the discussion this morning at the dog part.

2. Love Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. Can't believe it took him 7 years. I just love that. It gives me hope :)

3. We watched Heart of Stone. I didn't love it or even like it very much. My husband did but maybe it's because it was Gal Gadot!

4. I have used many yogi berrra-isms but the one you cite that I didn't know think is great is "The Future ain't what it used to be."

Awesome newsletter as always!

Thanks, Jill.

I'm amazed at how many verses that Cohen wrote for Hallelujah. It seems that it started out with an odd combination of spiritual and sexual and when that didn't resonate, he wrote different lyrics. He is one of those people that I would love to have had dinner with.

It must have been a lively conversation this morning at the dog park. I hope there weren't any male, sniffing puppies around.
